Over this summer I intend to learn how to cook and bake by myself and do other house stuff. Here i am posting the results of baking Butterfly Cakes, my favourite cakes!
Recipe
For the cakes
2 medium eggs
110g / 4oz self-raising flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
110g / 4oz butter (soft)
110g / 4oz sugar
Butter Icing
170g / 6oz icing sugar
85g / 3oz butter (soft)
3 drops of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of milk

By the look my cakes came out lovely, a bit too dark, but when I tried them they tasted horrible (to me) as the shop only had almond extract and not vanilla, but I might've put a bit much in....however the boyfriend liked them as he likes marzipan (that's what it tasted like) and my mother liked them too. But stay tuned for my second attempt using a slightly different recipe so that they wont be so brown, and so that I can get the butter icing just right!
