Touchwiz Apex Review

In the current generations mobile phones are at our fingertips everyday, and it's always the 'done thing' to have the latest, flashest phone.

So what about the newest updates and software? If you don't like the layout on your phone, all you have to do is search on the app store install and bob's your uncle.

I got recommended this theme, as a lot of Samsung Galaxy users have it, and I'm a fan of Samsung, even though I currently have a Sony Xperia S (which I had never thought would be as good as it is) and I thought I'd try it as the layout looks pretty smooth to operate.

Screen shot of the home page on my Xperia (left) and the touchwiz (right)
Obviously you can customise it with the apps you use the most, I haven't done much to mine yet. The thing that most drew me to this theme is the dead dandelion, as I saw in a demonstation that if you have it on the lock screen, and to unlock it you press it and the seeds fly off. I am yet to find this function, when I do I'll post it and will be completely satisfied with the app.

The lock screen.

The new menu of apps (on the right), which definitely reminds me of my old Samsung Galaxy Ace menu. The only thing is that the menu is now quite busy with as many apps as you can squeeze on the pages, whereas on my Xperia (on the left) is quite spacious and has certain apps on certain pages.

The only thing on my phone where I install new apps to replace one's on the Xperia is that I have to make this choice, as to whether to always use the Touchwiz or if I want to use the Xperia version. Apart from this, the app looks really nice to use, and the movement is swift between pages with is aesthetically pleasing.

Future Blogging

Hello bloggers,

Seeming as it's now summer I have some more time to blog, and I plan to do reviews, on this current blog it will range from tv programmes, beauty products, clothes and games. Also, I am going to open up a separate blog for film reviews as my dream job would be to write for film magazines.

So hopefully people might read my reviews and like them,

Enjoy!

Grumpy Pixels Podcast #3

As i have mentioned  before, it's three guys studying media at college and have started up these weekly podcasts about new games and the gaming news. They're hoping that if they get a good response then their college will let them have a radio show, therefor spam Fareham College to let these guys have some fun. Consisting of three 'grumpy' lads; Connor, Tom and Alex (known as Revell) mainly improvise their show which gives it a friendly feel, as well they are all friends in real life.

The podcast is split into three categories; The gaming news, One minute review, and game of the week. Each grumpy takes it in turn to do a segment and swap around every week, so it's a fair review system, and they rate each other with scores at the end of it.

I personally like listening to these guys as well i do know them in real life, and they crack me up with their jokes and comments on the world. But i like the laidback-ness of their podcasts and that i know their reviews and comments are genuine, and i like how it's edited together with trailers and game play of the games they are discussing.

This is their recent podcast, so watch it, rate it, comment and subscribe so these guys can get going!

Me as Alice in Wonderland, thanks to my wonderful friend Lacey

Into gaming? Well check this out!

My boyfriend and two of his friends have decided to start podcasts so that they might be able to get their own radio gig at their college. This particular episode is about PS4, Far Cry 3 and Hotline Miami. They are three funny genuine guys and this is completely improvised and hopefully they'll get the recognition they deserve!

This is the Grumpy Pixels at work, click and enjoy!

I deeply apologise for my absense

Hey there,
I have been a way for a fair while now, and various things have occurred in my life since I last wrote a post, I became single for a while and pushed myself to get a job, I had three interviews and the third time I got the job. I now work in a dry cleaners and I can't imagine not earning money again! I have modeled for a friend (which I will upload my awesome photo's of me as Alice in Wonderland) and I got back on track with college work and my friends and family.

Then at the very start of this year, I got back with my boyfriend, and he's been my inspiration and has brought back my motivation to write and work again, so in due course I will try and blog regularly, as I HAVE A NEW PHONE. How could I forget that part...? So i will try blogging from there, with many rants about how life and people annoy me.

Enjoy!

The new New Year’s Resolution

Do you have one? Or ideas and things you want or need to do in your life? Yes? Well why do we feel we need to create one in the first place? Is it to feel like we've accomplished something in our lives, well why not?
Why not jump out of a plane, swim with sharks or fling yourself off of a bridge? With the New Year, why not make a bucket list as well as, or instead of a new year’s resolution?
I got inspired to write a bucket list, from the film, with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, where they fall ill with cancer and want to fulfill their last wishes. As grim as it may sound, it's not a bad thing to do. A lot of us want to seize the day, and live in the moment, whether it's for charity, just for you, or if you're an adrenaline junkie. You can do something amazing and life lifting like skydiving, or to stay in all day and watch the extended additions of The Lord of the Rings and relax.
How to get listing
Whether it is something outgoing and outrageous, or just something you've never got round to, it'll feel good to do something for yourself and to cross it off of your list (if you like to write lists and tick things off then this will be for you.)Why not start off with five things you want to do. My list consists of; zorbing, bungee jumping, writing a book, watching the extended editions of The Lord of the Rings, and to get dressed up as a comic book hero and go to comic con. We can have a good mixture of activities where we can relax, and one’s that will be once in a lifetime opportunities.
The good thing about this is that you don’t have to accomplish all of these goals in just a year; you have your life to complete the things you want to do. You can spread them out, for example you could aim to do one of them in 2013, so get thinking and create your own bucket list!
